      AUBURN - Evelyn Gurschick Bell, 79, of Caron Lane, Auburn and formerly of Andover died Sunday, May 9, at the Odd Fellows Home following a short illness.

      She was born in Skowhegan on Dec. 1, 1924, the daughter of Leon and Mildred (Smith) Wilbur and was a graduate of Rumford High School.

      She was the widow of Karl Gurschick who died in July of 1978.

      She was a housewife having raised her loving family, worked part-time selling deerskin gloves, and also worked for the Andover Water District and Library.

      She taught Sunday School and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Rumford and the Andover Congregational Church. She was also a member of the Ladies Circle in Andover.

      She enjoyed the "Old Home Days," knitting, word puzzles, and writing in her journal.

      She is survived by her five children, Karl Gurschick and his wife Dawn of Hermon, Keith Gurschick and his wife Terry of Windsor, Nova Scotia, Kathy Gurschick of Lewes, Del., Karen Crowley and her husband Jim of Westminster, S.C., and Kirby Gurschick and his wife Karen of Auburn; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

      She was predeceased by her infant daughter, Kimberly; her second husband, Albert Bell; her brother, Everett; and her sister, Dorothy Harvey.
