      Per Sesquicentennial, “owned HIghmoor Farm at one point, which he sold to the state.” The State of Maine bought Highmoor Farm in 1909.

      Sesquicentennial also says he died in Washington DC. I thought he had been living in Florida. Military hospital in DC, perhaps?

      Residing in Monmouth, Maine at the time of enlistment. Enlisted as a Private, at the age of 18 in the 1st District of Columbia Cavalary. Transferred to 1st Maine Cavalary, Company G on February 19, 1864. Promoted to Corporal in 1865. Mustered out on August 1, 1865 at Petersburg, Virginia.
