      MADISON -- Norman J. LeBlanc, 83, died Monday, July 10, 2006, at Redington-Fairview General Hospital in Skowhegan.

      He was born Nov. 14, 1922, in Madison, the son of Maxime Sr. and Emma (O'Brien) LeBlanc.

      Norman attended Madison Schools and served in the Army during World War II.

      He had worked at several different occupations. For several years he operated a small grocery store at Sugarloaf Mountain and had cooked at a nursing care facility.

      He was a member of the Bourque-Lanigan Post No. 5 American Legion of Waterville. Norman enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid Red Sox fan.

      Norman was predeceased by his wife, Connie (Drake) LeBlanc; his siblings, Alec LeBlanc, Dedus LeBlanc, Anna (LeBlanc) Bolduc, Frank LeBlanc, Arthur LeBlanc, George LeBlanc, Maxime LeBlanc Jr., Eva (LeBlanc) Daigle, and Leo LeBlanc; and a special nephew, Martin LeBlanc.

      He is survived by a sister, Rena (LeBlanc) Berry of Madison; and many nieces and nephews.

      Visiting will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 13, at Giberson Funeral Home, 40 Maple St. in Madison. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Madison. Interment will be in St. Sebastian Cemetery.

      In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a memorial contribution to the Disabled American Veterans, Department of Maine, P.O. Box 3415, Building 248, Room 113, VA Medical Center, Togus, ME 04330.
